Google Developer Challenge

This article announces that a new Google developer challenge is underway with a grand prize of $250,000.   Users can download submitted apps through the Android Market and score offerings based on Google’s criteria.  This is an example of Google using outside sources to develop products for them, an idea we talked about in class.  This saves Google money in development while allowing them to put its name on the newest, best products.

Wow! Talk about outsourcing! It is nice that the winners get money though. It sounds like a good idea and saves money and gives people money who deserve it. It also pulls people’s ideas from many places not just at Goggle. This is an example of user generated content like we talked about it class. It seems that internet sites are started to involve their users more which is great because everyone benefits!
